In collaboration with my bachelor thesis supervisors, Dr. Carlos Tavera and Prof. Nenad Glodic, I performed design calculations for a subsonic nozzle operating at Mach 0.85 in a transonic linear cascade wind tunnel.
The initial design phase utilized a quasi-one-dimensional approach implemented in Python. Following this, CFD simulations were conducted to determine the optimum nozzle geometry to achieve flow uniformity at the nozzle outlet. This was assessed by measuring total pressure loss, boundary layer thickness, and exit flow angle.
